Industry Innovation Fund supports the industry's future |
Fitness Australia’s Industry Innovation Fund is playing a vital role in the industry’s future. Right now there is a campaign in place urging industry operators to join Registered Exercise Professionals making contributions to Industry Innovation Fund so that Fitness Australia is able to continue the fight against the PPCA.
“All the big industry players have made significant contributions but less than 100 independent club owners have pledged their support for Operation M.U.S.I.C since the campaign started over 2 years ago,” says Hiscoes Fitness owner and Fitness Australia Director Susan Kingsmill.

Obesity is on a rampage, with the World Health Organisation pegging the numbers at more than 300 million worldwide, with a billion more overweight. With obesity comes the increased risk for cardiovascular disease, Type II diabetes, and hypertension.
In the journal Human Brain Mapping, Paul Thompson, senior author and professor of neurology, and Cyrus Raji, lead author and medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and colleagues compared the brains of people who were obese, overweight, and of normal weight, to see if they had differences in brain structure.
